The Four Degrees of Knighthood

As a member, there are four different degrees of being a Knight. Each degree deepens your understanding of what it means to be a Knight of Columbus.

First Degree - Charity

The first and most important principle. This degree focuses on the importance of charity in the Christian life.

Second Degree - Unity

Emphasizes the importance of our Catholic faith and unity with our fellow Knights and the Church.

Third Degree - Fraternity

Focuses on the bonds of fraternal charity that unite us as brother Knights in service to one another.

Fourth Degree - Patriotism

The patriotic degree, fostering love of country and full participation as Catholic citizens.

What do Knights actually do?

Knights volunteer their time and talents to charitable causes, support their parishes, defend the unborn, assist those in need, and strengthen their faith through prayer and fellowship.

How much time do I need to commit?

That's entirely up to you! We understand members have jobs, families, and other commitments. Participate as much or as little as your schedule allows.

Are there membership dues?

Yes, there are modest annual dues that help support council operations and charitable activities. Contact us for current rates.

Do I have to attend every meeting?

No. While regular attendance is encouraged, we understand life happens. Attend when you can and participate in activities that interest you.

What happens at meetings?

We hold spiritual meetings and monthly business meetings to discuss fundraisers, social events, and charitable activities. Your suggestions are always welcome!

Can my family participate?

Absolutely! We have many family-friendly events throughout the year that spouses and children are welcome to attend.

What if I'm new to the area?

Perfect! Joining the Knights is a great way to meet other Catholic men and become part of your new community.
